Important update: Due to the still tense pandemic situation, the organizers of the DKT 2021 and the DGKK board decided to postpone the annual meeting. Our society thrives on personal encounters and discussions, which is why we do not want to switch to a virtual format, but instead hold the DKT 2021 from October 6th to 8th, 2021 in Berlin as a face-to-face conference - if the situation finally permits it.
The "Junge DGKK" is an initiative of young DGKK members to promote the networking of young scientists and engineers in crystal growth. The young DGKK therefore supports the establishment and intensification of contacts between members and with experts working in science and industry through various activities. Another focus is to spark interest in young members for the work in our society as well as to gain the interest of new potential members.
The seminar usually takes place in the run-up to the main conference. In 2021 it will be on October 5th & 6th. The programme can be found here.

A hygiene and safety concept is provided. There are several hotels, lunch restaurants and shops in Adlershof.
The main sponsor of the seminar is the German Society for Crystal Growth (DGKK).
The seminar programme will be announced here after the registration for contributions.
So far, the following speakers are confirmed:
Dr. Hiroki Tanaka (IKZ Berlin), "Laser Cooling in Fluoride Crystals: Interdisciplinary Research Project".
Dr. Anton Jesche (Uni Augsburg, Physik), "Solutions for Crystal Growth: Crystal Growth from Solutions".

Prof. A. Hoffmann (TU Berlin, FK Physik), "Characterization of epitaxy, WBG HL".
Prof. Saskia Fischer (Humboldt Uni Berlin), "Nanostructures, ultra-thin films, new SC materials".

Participation in the jDGKK seminar is free. Registration for the seminar and DKT 2021 is possible from June 2021. All participants are asked to present a poster and a 3-minute Lightning Talk about their current research (BSc, Msc, PhD) (talks and presentations are to be held in English).
Please note that due to the still unclear pandemic situation, we can only issue a binding acceptance or rejection later and may have to limit the number of participants.
We look forward to a non-binding pre-registration for poster presentations.
